Basic Ritual

1. the Circle, cast
"Circle of Power, I conjure thee,
So that you may be a boundary.
Between two worlds this circle lies,
Accept no evil in disguise.

"A meeting place of Peace and Trust,
Leave all else out in the dust.
Love and Joy be welcome, too,
To remind us not to be a fool."

2. the Quarters, called*
"Hail, Guardian of the Watchtower of the East!
I call you from gentle winds scented with the promise of Spring.
Come; share with me your boundless wisdom.
I invite you to guide and guard my circle.

"Hail, Guardian of the Watchtower of the South!
I call you from the brilliant fires of transformation.
Come; let me behold your passionate creation.
I invite you to guide and guard my circle.

"Hail, Guardian of the Watchtower of the West!
I call you from the azure depths and rippling pool.
Come; let me drink from your well of love.
I invite you to guide and guard my circle.

"Hail, Guardian of the Watchtower of the North!
I call you from snow-topped mountains and dark fertile fields.
Come; touch me with your enduring patience.
I invite you to guide and guard my circle."

3. the Deity, evoked**
"The Master and Mystress of magic,
That dwell in the deeps of the mind,
Immortal and ever renewing,
With power to free and to bind.

"I ask that you aid me in my circle,

To bring protection and power.
Please come to me now,
In this place and in this hour."

4. ACTUAL WORKING

5. the Deity, thanked***
"In this place and in this hour,
I called upon the Ancient Power.

"The Master and Mystress of Magic,
The Goddess and God divine,
I thank you for your magic,
I thank you for your time."

6. the Quarters, released*
"Powers of the North, thank you for your time.
Empower my magic with solid foundations
So that it may grow daily in my heart. Farewell.

"Powers of the West, thank you for your time.
Empower my magic with inspiration
So that it flows freely in and around my life. Farewell.

"Powers of the South, thank you for your time.
Empower my magic with passionate energy,
As a source of encouragement in my heart. Farewell.

"Powers of the East, thank you for your time.
Empower my magic with your creative winds
So that it may ever be a source of hope in my life. Farewell."

7. the Circle, broke
"Circle of power, I conjured thee,
Now you have done enough for me."

*I got the Quarter calls and releases from asiya.com
**The Deity Evocation: Evocation is the correct term, not invocation. I am requesting their presence -around- me(evoking), not requesting they come -into- me(invoking). Also, the first stanza is from the Creed.
***The first line is reminiscent of Charmed. Jus' Sayin'.

October's To-Do

I have decided I have read, sat back, and waited long enough. I am going to start my journey. I have begun my Book of Shadows, and I will be slowly adding things to it as I progress in my journey.

I will log my to-dos towards the closing of each month. Each time I will give to-dos for 2 months, so yes, there will be a lot of repetition, but repetition is a good thing! It will keep things fresh in my mind!

Short Term will be a week or so
Medium Term will be a month or so
Long Term will be about 2 months

REMEMBER: These are to-dos, not goals. I know I use the phrases 'Short Term' and 'Long Term' which usually corresponds to goals, but I just like the titles and decided to borrow them for to-dos.

Welcome to my Hexenbuch!

Guten Tag! Just kidding. I do know some German, but not enough to only use German.

If you are wondering, Hexenbuch means 'witches book'. So, a book for witches. This is my Book of Shadows. I will be putting everything that goes into my physical Book onto this blog, as a way of backing things up. I will most likely refer to my Book of Shadows as 'my Book', 'the Book', or 'BoS'. Maybe even 'Buch' or 'Hexenbuch', but 'Hexenbuch' is just the 'title' of my Book.

This first post might have a lot of text, so I'm sorry. But then again, who knows if people are going to see this, so who cares? Right?

Physical Book Goals/Updates
I plan to celebrate the Sabbats and Esbats to the best of my ability from Samhain to Samhain, and after, of course. This will be like my year and a day, so I will be adding things into my Book and getting a foundation into my Book of Shadows.

Usually, I store everything on my laptop, but I figure if I ever want to do outside rituals by the closest river(which I want to do) my laptop won't hold up, since the previous owner had worn the battery down so much that it only stays on for about 20 minutes after it gets unplugged. Lets just say that 76% of the whole battery is not usable.

So now, I think I'll keep a back up on my computer and this blog(typing up everything after I've already written it in my Book) but I will keep a physical object. What I wanted to use was a report cover that you could extend up to 3 inches, but my local office supply shop only had those in a 10 pack, for like 25 dollars. But I only wanted two. So, I settled on a 3-Ring binder, and I'm actually really glad I did!

You see, even though the Report cover is expandable and easy to add and remove pages from it, I don't really want to be moving and rearranging my pages too much, just because I don't want the metal fasteners to wear and then break. The 3-Ring is literally made to be opened at least 30 times a day, so I figure, why not start with a 3-Ring, where I can get everything in, and rearrange sections to suit my liking, and then once it's time to update to the report cover, all I have to do is add blank pages to each section so I have room to write more, and then put them in the report cover in the order they were in my 3-Ring.
